Sky Zone trampoline park is coming to the old Stein Mart at the Orchards
City planning records lay out a 27,451-square-foot indoor park at 2800 Ygnacio Valley Road, and Sky Zone now lists Walnut Creek as coming soon.
The empty Stein Mart at the Orchards is being converted into a trampoline park. Sky Zone lists a Walnut Creek location on its website as coming soon, with a mailing list for people who want to know when it opens.
The plan is spelled out in city planning records. A conditional use permit application filed by Rebecca Nikolai of Moda4 Design went to the Planning Commission on Aug. 14, 2025, for a 27,451-square-foot indoor trampoline park at 2800 Ygnacio Valley Road, Building B, in the middle of the Orchards Shopping Center at Ygnacio Valley and Oak Grove roads. City staff recommended approval.
What goes inside, per the staff report: a main trampoline court, a dodgeball area, Sky Slam basketball, an air court, a warrior course, a zip line and a toddler play area, plus an arcade and a snack counter with spectator seating. A 5,294-square-foot mezzanine holds party rooms and rest areas. Entry is timed and ticketed to control how many people are in the building at once, and no alcohol is proposed. The snack counter sells prepackaged food; guests cannot bring their own.
Proposed hours were 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Nothing changes outside. The application involves no expansion of the building and no landscaping work, with signs handled under a separate permit. On parking, staff wrote that the shopping center's roughly 773 shared spaces work out to about 3.9 stalls per 1,000 square feet of building, above the 2.0 to 2.8 that comparable recreation uses draw at their peak, so no additional parking was required.
Sky Zone's own page for Walnut Creek lists attractions including Wipeout, the Warped Wall, Sky Slam and Fusion Ultimate Dodgeball. No opening date has been announced.
