Los Medanos College (LMC) has been named a 2026 Pathway Champion of Placement for Latino Student Success in English by the Campaign for College Opportunity, according to the Antioch Herald. The award recognizes colleges where Latino students are completing transfer-level English at the highest rates, with a focus on closing racial equity gaps.

According to Antioch Herald: Since implementing an equity plan, LMC's transfer-level English completion rate has risen to 72% overall and for Latino students.

According to Antioch Herald: More than 45% of LMC's student population identifies as Latinx, and the college is a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution.

According to Antioch Herald: The recognition will take place during a virtual celebration on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., during National Transfer Week.

According to Antioch Herald: This year, the Campaign for College Opportunity is recognizing 40 Pathway Champions, including California Community Colleges and CSU campuses.
