Gov. Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill 328, advancing the redevelopment of the former Concord Naval Weapons Station, Claycord reported.

The legislation supports Concord's plans to transform the former military property into a new community with 12,272 homes, 25% of which would be affordable, according to Claycord. The project also calls for approximately 6 million square feet of commercial space and more than 800 acres of parks and trails.

The city will continue working with master developer Brookfield and the community on a Specific Plan to guide future development of the site, Claycord reported.
