Folding-bicycle pioneer DAHON — founded in California in 1982 by Dr. David T. Hon and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as DAHON TECH (HKEX: 2543) — has unveiled three folding bicycle lines engineered for heavy cargo, electric-assisted range, and gravel trails, according to The Press. In Bay Area air travel news, a new survey analyzed on Sunday by KCBS News Anchor Jim Murphy and Atmosphere Research Group president Henry Harteveldt on KCBS Radio found that San Francisco International Airport (SFO) ranks among the top airports for the shortest TSA security wait times, while Delta Air Lines operates the oldest commercial aircraft at 37 years old.

DAHON-V Tech Frame Engineering and Three Multi-Terrain Folding Bike Series

All three DAHON lineups incorporate DAHON-V Tech, a frame-testing and design methodology using computerized finite element analysis (FEA), strain gauges, the patented DELTECH cable, and the Super Down Tube to increase frame stiffness by 33% and deliver reported riding-speed gains of 5–15%:

  1. Mariner Heavy-Duty Series (Mariner HD and Mariner XL): Built on an aviation-grade aluminum K-frame rated for a maximum payload of 150 kg (330 lb), both models feature a Shimano 8-speed drivetrain, a custom 52T chainring, an 11–32T cassette, and disc brakes. Their frame, fork, and seatpost are tested at loads 50% above standard city-bike requirements (and the handlepost at 30% higher loads) across 100,000 stress cycles. The Mariner HD uses 20-inch wheels and won a d&i Award at Taipei Cycle 2026, while the Mariner XL features 22-inch wheels.
  2. E-Hemingway Electric Gravel Folder: Weighing about 19 kg (41.8 lb) with an aluminum F-frame, 20-inch Schwalbe Billy Bonkers multi-terrain tires, and a 105 kg (231 lb) maximum rider weight, the E-Hemingway pairs a 250W rear hub motor delivering up to 42 N·m of torque with a 0.01-second torque sensor, an LCD display with 5 assistance levels, and a replaceable in-tube Samsung 21700 battery with an integrated GaN charger for up to 100 km of assisted range.
  3. LUNDEN GR Tri-Fold Gravel Bike: DAHON's first tri-fold model equipped with DAHON-V Tech folds 12% smaller than conventional 20-inch folding bikes and combines a direct head-tube-to-bottom-bracket linkage, reinforced seatstays, a handlebar Suspension Control Switch, a Shimano 8-speed drivetrain, and 2.0-inch-wide multi-terrain tires.

SFO Ranks Among Shortest TSA Waits as Survey Notes 37-Year-Old Delta Jet

For travelers heading to the airport, KCBS News Anchor Jim Murphy and airline industry analyst Henry Harteveldt of Atmosphere Research Group highlighted two findings from a new aviation survey: San Francisco International Airport (SFO) ranks among the top U.S. airports with the shortest TSA security screening wait times, while Delta Air Lines operates the oldest active commercial airplane in the survey at 37 years old.
