Concord's Taco Trail opened Sept. 15 and runs through Oct. 15, which leaves about four weeks to eat your way down the list.

The trail is self-guided and free to join. Pick up a challenge card and map at any participating restaurant or at the Concord Visitor Center at 2151 Salvio St., Suite T, open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Then collect a sticker at each stop. Visit Concord counts more than 40 family-owned taquerias and restaurants in the city.

The card is also a scorecard. Whoever has the most stickers at the end is named the 2026 Taco Trail Champion and gets a $250 taco party and taco-themed merchandise. Visits count toward two other titles: Fan Favorite Taqueria, which goes to the restaurant with the most, and Best Salsa, which is decided by votes emailed to programs@visitconcordca.com. All three are announced Friday, Oct. 16.

The trail started with a kick-off party on Friday, Sept. 11 at Las Montañas Supermarket at 1725 Willow Pass Road, with mariachi music and free tacos. The market runs a tortilleria, a taqueria and a juice bar alongside its meat, seafood, produce and bakery counters, and it is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

Questions about the challenge go to programs@visitconcordca.com. The visitor center's number is 925-685-1182.
